No different from many, I live with chronic pain with acute episodes. I have RA and joint degeneration. I have recently been prescribed slow release Morphine Sulfate. Has anyone here any experience of taking Morphine Sulfate? It seems a big step up. Is there any other way to see them or tests I can have as I would like to get off the tramadol but if I did I would have to pack my business in and go sick. Everything has been controlled with methotrexate. Flare started after busy summer working on the land. Dosage increased to 25mg plus 10mg prednisolone .
Minor improvement after 3 weeks but pain in wrist and feet still high

I had a steroid injection (general 120mg I think) on Wednesday but still in a lot of pain and still have visible inflammation. The last one I had (2 years ago) worked wonders for me quickly but this time it's almost as if I haven't even had it. I don't understand why this would be.

I run about 20 miles a week, sometimes more (if my knee is good). Is there any good quality information that can help me with this? Finally after 2 years I got referred to a rheumatologist who carried out lots of blood tests for various things all of which have come back negative for anything. Yet they are still treating me for arthritis which none of the medication they have put me on has helped including methotrexate I’m so just confused if all my tests are showing negative why they are treating me for it? If the medication hasn’t worked and I’m still in tremendous amount of pain surely that’s an idea that maybe it’s not arthritis and there’s actually something else wrong? No one is listening to my concerns. Please help if you have any advice or heard of anything similar

I am new to the group. I am 42 and was diagnosed with acute inflammatory arthritis last year. I had steroid injection on middle finger and thumb joints when it got swollen. Aside from that I only feel slight joint pain, one time my knee got swollen but it was okay after few days. I had blood test 2x last April and July and my platelet count is high. I was prescribed with Sulfasalazine last year as well, but I was so scared to start on it when I read all the side effects and how possibly it can damage the liver and kidney. It seems like a chemotherapeutic drug. Anyone here managing arthritis with complementary treatment and just taking supplements? I want to stay away from drugs as much as possible. I tried ringing your helpline on Thursday but got no response. You were closed Friday and I tried again this morning and was told that you would call back within 2 days!

My issue is that I have arthritis in my hands, diagnosed last year, in my feet diagnosed in May, and June, and left knee, diagnosed last week.

I saw my consultant in May and he gave me a steriod injection for right toe (severe degeneration) and listed me of toe fusion op. I am seeing him on Wednesday as this has worn off and I have had 2 more diagnosis of arthritis.

Left toe is moderate and left knee is moderate to severe. All my arthritis is osteo.

Please advise me on what my options are likely to be, prognosis, what I should ask my consultant and how to prioritise any ops required.

Because of the arthritis in my hands holding sticks is almost impossible, can only manage for a few minutes.

Do I stop taking them and try something else? Is there something I can try to help with the nausea/head fog?

Have it diagnosed in knees and hands, suspect it is in other places. Recently diagnosed with high uric acid and now taking allopurinol so possibly gout in hands. Recently saw rheumatology and although crp raised no positive RA factor therefore no further diagnosis. I have also got Achilles tendon problem and also woke up randomly last week completely out of the blue with severe coccyx pain which GP says is coccydynia. This week I have developed yellow pitted nails. So fed up with going to GP I googled symptoms and it seems I have a few of the symptoms of PsA. 1. Pain and swelling fingers, 2. Pitted discolouration of nails. 3. Pain and swelling at base of spine 4. Achilles tendon problems and heel pain. 5. Fatigue. Are my symptoms completely problems in their own right or are they connected?

Any thoughts or info would be great.
