Walking poles & cycle.
I have RH in my hands & feet. Also OA in knees & I suspect R hip although not diagnosed. Also, following a successful lumbar disc replacement I was left with neuropathy in both feet. All this combined affects my walking gait & mobility. On top of this, for the past 18 months, I’ve been struggling with Achillea tendonitis ( sorry if I sound a bit downbeat- I’m mentally ok but need to get myself sorted) To this end, I’ve dug out my Nordic walking poles which helped following my spine op. However, now I find I can’t grip them as well as I could. I’ve seen some on YouTube with chunkier handles especially for arthritis sufferers ( I think in US) but I can’t find any here. Does anyone have any that they recommend ( or any suggestions for alternatives)
另请注意,我的自行车是躺在管低e because my balance issues mean I can’t ride it. I’m considering stabilisers but wondered if anyone has any they can recommend.

Update - I’ve found them on Amazon. There called Activator poles. They differ slightly from Nordic in that they have a ledge that your fist rests on to take the strain off your hands. I think I’ll give them a go.

Hi
maybe you could get a trike ? They have two wheels at the back so are more stable.

I didn’t really want a trike. I have a folding bike that I like to put in the car & take to the coast & country. But I wobble a bit now. I might have to stop altogether but it’s difficult accepting these stages isn’t it?

Not sure of the size, It’s stuck at the back of the garage. It’s probably 26”. I’ll have a look on Amazon. Thanks

Let me know how you get on.
looking at bikes has made me want to cycle again.
i have not rode a bike for many years, I have arthritis in my knee.
Think I will try and find a reasonable priced bike, and see if I can ride it.
please keep in touch
best wishes

Ok, I saw the podiatrist today who thinks that I quite possibly have Achilles bursitis rather than tendonitis, which although has very similar symptoms, requires a different approach to rehabilitation. Firstly, I have to have an ultrasound which will give a definitive diagnosis. Bursitis may require a steroid injection ( yippee, I LOVE those - NOT ) followed by specific exercise. In the meantime, most stretching, physio & over enthusiastic exercise is out. So, no cycling & only short distance walking. Apparently, it’s very common in RA sufferers as it is an inflammatory condition. RA is the gift that keeps on giving.
But Junie by all means, take up cycling again, once lockdown is lifted & im back on my feet, I’ll be getting my rusty bike out.

If anyone is thinking about a trike rather than a bike, you can get ones that fold and fit in a car.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.hpvelotechnik.com/en/recumbent-trikes-bikes/gekko-recumbent-trikes/gekko-fx-20-compact-fast-folding-trike/&ved=2ahUKEwjN9c37ppL0AhVJS_EDHQJbBSwQFnoECBEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0sFANobe2VpY0uDx3GAXnS
